Brenda Faye Wallin Young, age 68, of LaFayette passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020. She was a member of Linwood Baptist Church. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Young; daughter, Star Young; sons, Stacy (Ericka) Young, Jerry D. (Terri) Young, and Herbie (Roxana) Young; grandchildren, Nathan Young, Tristen Young, Matthew Young, Makenzie Young, Makinnon Young and Miley Young; great grandchildren, Hunter Young, Preston Young, and Kaisen Young; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2020 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jon Alverson officiating. Interment at LaFayette City Cemetery. Timothy "Tim" Robert Green, age 53, of LaFayette passed away Monday, March 2, 2020. He was a member of Community Baptist Church of Rock Spring. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Tim was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan who loved hunting and fishing. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Green. He is survived by his wife, Kim Green; daughters, Ashley Wilson, Lorin (Thomas) Peterson and Kelsie (Jonathan) Walker; father, Rev. Jack Green; grandchildren, Alli Peterson, Riley Peterson, Shayle Rushing, and Bristol Peterson; brothers, Howard (Peggy) Green Jr., Steven (Tammy) Green and Shawn "Butter Bean" (Jody) Green; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Community Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Angel officiating. Interment at LaFayette Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are Howard Green, Steven Green, Shawn Green, Caleb Green, Derek Angel, and Daniel Angel. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim's Sunday school class. Charles Allan Edwards, age 88, of LaFayette passed away Monday, March 02, 2020. Allan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the VFW post 3679 in Fort Oglethorpe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Edwards, sister, Ruth Sharrock; brother, Ray Edwards; and his parents, Henry McKinley Edwards and Flora Mae Edwards. He is survived by daughter, Andrea Herr of Knoxville; son, Chuck Edwards of LaFayette; grandson, Ian (Jordin) Herr; great grandson, Sawyer Herr all of Acworth; and sister, Vonnie Hogg of LaFayette; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5th in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lowell Cantrell officiating. Interment in the LaFayette Memory Gardens. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette. Walker Maurice "Pop" Spears, age 71, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, March 01, 2020. Maurice was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army. After serving his country, he was employed with the Roper Corporation in LaFayette where he retired. Maurice also enjoyed honoring his Lord and Savior by teaching Sunday school and being a trustee for the Gospel Light Fellowship Church, in which he was a member. Preceded in death by his parents, William H. Spears and Lela Bonell Lankford Spears; sisters, Agnes Parker and Deloris Collins; and brother, Billy Ray Spears. Survived by his loving wife, Frances "Pat" Spears; daughter, Lawanda (Derrick) Henderson; son, Pastor Chris (Hope) Spears; grandchildren, Makayla (Cheston) Dodd, Bryson Spears, and Cole Spears; great grandchild, Elisha Dodd; and sister, Brenda Armstrong all of LaFayette; several nieces and nephews also survived. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Paul Goodman, Jay Brock, Larry Callihan and Bobby Shutt officiating. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette. Rev. Riley Nathaniel Bomar, MSgt USMC (RET.) age 91, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020. Rev. Bomar proudly served his country in the USMC for 22 years where he retired as Master Sergeant. He then attended New Orleans Theological Seminary where he earned a seminary degree. After seminary, he was given the privilege by the Lord to pastor several churches. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Franklin Bomar and Rosebud McKeehan Bomar; and sister, Johnnie Sue Watts. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mary L. Bomar; daughter, Melinda Gail Bomar; sons, Nathan Bomar and Rickie Bomar; one grandson; three great grandchildren; sister, Margie Cordell; brother, Sam (Sarah Jo) Bomar; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Romain officiating. Interment at Subligna Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Voiles and Grace Voiles; brother, Wayne Voiles; and sister, Wanda Dutton. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Diann Voiles of LaFayette; brother, Danny Voiles of LaFayette; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Larry Brooks and Johnny Stephens officiating.
