Some of my lovely blogging friends write posts about their day and have said how they like to hear about other people's days.  I've never written about a typical day in my life, unless I have been somewhere interesting, as I felt like my days are quite ordinary a lot of the time { as it is for most of us } but, thinking about it, I rather like reading about a typical day in your lives so, here goes ..........This was a couple of days ago .......... Got up !!!!!
Dressed in these biker boots, leggings, khaki top and black jacket and my 'as always' silver jewellery .....
Got in my mini { John Cooper Works model ! } and drove to the shops .....
There is a family friend of 93 that I visit regularly who hasn't been well ..... she's had that cough that goes on for weeks ! So, I did her shopping, made a tad more complicated as she has to have everything gluten free ! One thing on her shopping list was a large bag of songbird bird seed ..... it weighed 14 kgs ..... I nearly broke my back lugging it from shelf to trolly, trolly to conveyer belt, conveyer belt to trolly, trolly to car, from car to house and through her house !!! I know thats not me in the image but I like to think I look like that 😂 ..... Made prawn salad for her which she  had, accompanied with half a bottle of Rosé !!! ..... she then asked if I could feed the birds, feed the fish in the pond, put the food away and take her washing upstairs ! That done, I drove home through lousy weather ..... saw so many trees that had fallen over !
Got home around 7.00 pm and made salmon with quinoa, long grain rice. black rice, edamame beans, black barley and red pepper, tenderstem broccoli and sweet stemmed cauliflower ..... have you had sweet stemmed cauliflower ? It's my favourite veg at the moment.
I think that some might say that I have slightly overcooked the salmon as they say when you see those white bits its overcooked but, it wasn't ..... so there !!!
Well, there you are ..... nothing very exciting ..... probably the sort of stuff that we all do. Obviously I don't do this everyday ...... I do do other things !!!  PS: I seem to have lost spellcheck on Blogger ...is it just me ?  PPS : Just to make it clear, only my 93 year old family friend drank the Rosé ..... I was driving.

Jackie February 1st has come around again ..... these birthdays seem to come around so fast ! Never mind ...... I'm very grateful that I am able to celebrate them. I might keep quiet about it next year though 😱 XXXX image 1: via me, image 2: via pinterest Jackie I've said so many times that I am going to be a better blogger, will post more and make sure that I comment more but, so far, I haven't done very well !!! I had a few weeks holiday away from the world of blogging { unfortunately, not on a Canadian lake in an £11.4 million rented home } but I have managed to post this { with only one photograph sneakily taken by the paparazzi !!! } I might just take legal action ! XXXX Jackie Brought the Christmas tree stand in from the shed and put the tree up. Stayed up all night to watch the election and saw something scurry under a cupboard ..... we had brought a mouse in with the stand and obviously disturbed him when we filled the stand up with water !!! I sat up all night watching the election with a saucepan in my hand { I wasn't going to hit him with it .... I thought I might catch him with it .....  }  Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas. XXXX Jackie This is Belton House, built between 1685 and 1688 by Sir John Brownlow.  It is surrounded by formal gardens and a series of avenues leading to follies within a larger wooded park. At Christmas, it is transformed into a magical, after dark, illuminated trail and, as you walk through a towering Tunnel of Light festooned with over 100,000 pea lights, the mesmerising voices of the Singing Trees can be heard in the distance. The formal gardens spring into life with topiary trees lavishly draped in twinkling lights that dance in time to much loved festive classics. There are traditional fairground rides, a fire pit to toast marshmallows and walking under the stars with mulled wine or hot chocolate completes the overall experience.  It was a delightful way to begin our Christmas celebrations.  XXXX all photographs via me Jackie My husband was cutting down some ferns and asked me to tell him how far to cut them ..... I went out into the garden with nothing on my feet but flip flops, no gardening gloves, nothing ..... I told him what he wanted to know then, I spotted the rose that goes over the arch so, ran in for some secateurs and a step ladder and started pruning .......... Hands are now cut to ribbons !!!!! I always have to do everything straight away and can't be bothered to don the right equipment ..... I saved these three ..... the last of my Penny Lane rose for this year although, the St Swithin out in the front garden is blooming like mad !  Looooook !!!!!  A thorn between my sister { right } and my cousin { left } .....  This is us a few years previous ..... not in the same positions ..... my sister is the taller and older one { haha !!! } at the back, I'm on the left and my cousin on the right.    Went to see The Good Liar ..... I enjoyed it even though it was a bit obvious and I'm not a Helen Mirren fan !!!!! XXXX images 1 - 7: via me, image 8: via google Jackie Actually, we just walked around the streets for a couple of hours and there wasn't a lot of tricking going on  !!!  I was given the job of carving three pumpkins which I was very proud of considering I only had about an hour !  So many people dressed up and the houses looked brilliant ..... One guy opens his garage and really goes to town ..... fantastically decorated for charity and, even better, at the back he has a bar !!! I was never he biggest fan of Halloween as I feel Guy Fawkes is our thing but, I'm really warming to it !!!! XXXX All photographs taken by me ! Jackie
