Steel yourself for an influx of Hawaiian shirt-clad tourists. Famously laid-back singer Jimmy Buffet, whose enthusiastic fans are referred to as Parrotheads, is bringing his Margaritavilla brand of restaurants and hotels to San Diego. Named after another of his well-known hits, Margaritaville will be taking over Hotel Solamar in the East Village, giving an island-themed overhaul to the 15-year-old boutique hotel and its signature restaurant Jsix; the incoming Margaritavilla eatery's menu includes coconut shrimp, Jimmy's Jammin' Jambalaya®, and yes, a Cheeseburger in Paradise. According to the Union-Tribune, the transformation is scheduled to be completed next year. A rep for Jsix tells Eater that the restaurant has yet to set a closing date.

The globe-spanning chain is also moving into Mission Bay where the longstanding Paradise Point Resort & Spa will be replaced by a Margaritaville Island Resort.
