VERNON, CT — A Chinese buffet restaurant in Vernon has myseriously closed.
Wang's Buffet, located in the KMart plaza off Route 30, was dark on Thursday night except for its bright illuminated sign and was also locked tight on Friday. Social media posts seemed to indicate it was shuttered sometime this week as customers were met with locked doors.
Wang's website indicated the restaurant was still open on Friday, but that was not the case. Signs on the door said the place was closed.

Vernon Economic Development Coordinator Shaun Gately said he had received no notice of the closure.
Wang's had also closed several months ago, but emerged with new management and reopened.
In mid-May, a gas leak interrupted business at the restaurant at lunchtime. Crews from the Vernon Fire Department and Eversource energy were able to stop the leak and ventilate the building and nearby businesses were evacuated for less than an hour, according to police.
